1. SAFE AND SECURE CHECK-IN/PICK-UP
Each child is to be signed in on our roster sheet and have a filled-out name tag (placed on their back) when left in the nursery. In addition, smaller tags with coordinating numbers will be placed on children’s diaper bags, sippie cups and anything else you would like labeled before being placed in designated diaper bag/car seat areas. Upon release, babies will only be handed over to people with the right authorization. (Please let us know if there are any special situations or needs you would like our team to be aware of in regard to the release of your child.) For your child’s safety, no person under the age of 14 is allowed to take any child out of the nursery.
2. SNACKS/BOTTLES
A refrigerator and bottle warmer is available in the nursery for you or nursery attendants to store and warm bottles. Only snacks that are approved by you will be given to your child (as indicated on their name tag).
3. BEHAVIORAL ISSUES
Should there be any behavioral issues with your child our attendants are trained in handling them in a loving and respectful manner. After speaking to your child a couple of times about a certain behavior, we will notify you and request that your child sit with you for at least 10 minutes after which they are welcome to come back to the nursery. (10 minutes is a LONG time for little ones and we want you to be able to enjoy the service/activity to the fullest.)
4. ILLNESS/DISEASE CONTROL
On the parent information board you will find a list of symptoms we watch for to help you determine whether or not your child should stay in the nursery or sit with you during the service/activity. In addition, we will work to make sure you are informed should your child be exposed to any of the posted symptoms.
5. EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURES
(FIRE) A door to the outside is located in the nursery for evacuation to avoid losing little ones by means of a hallway escape route. All children will be located on sidewalk that runs parallel to West 1st street and will be released to parents/guardians once their name is checked on the roster.
(TORNADO) Assistance from parents and guardians will be necessary to carry all children to approved shelter area.
